Am I qualified for the 144 visa free program

Dear Sir or Madam

If I am planning to travel to San Francisco from New Zealand and stopover in Beijing for 4 days. I am holding a New Zealand Passport.

however, my flight carrier is China Eastern Airline and the flight route is Auckland-Shanghai(transit)-Beijing and arrive in Beijing at 25th October and leave Beijing at 28th October to San Francisco with the route Beijing-Shanghai(transit)-San Francisco.

Do I qualify for the 144 Visa-free programs as staying in Beijing for 4 days?
Thanks for your help
