About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

LAX->Chengdu->Beijing, THEN , Shanghai->Seoul

LAX to Beijing with a layover in Chengdu for 5 hours. Will be in Beijing and Shanghai for 4 days, then departing to Seoul from Shanghai. Based on my research, I will need a full L visa. Is that correct?

I will also be traveling from Osaka to Beijing then to LAX later that month. I will be in Beijing for less than 24 hours. Do I need another Visa?

Thank you!

You just need a visa for the first part of the trip.

On the return flight you're covered by the 24h transit and you don't need a visa.

if you have US passport and at least 1 year left, you can apply for the 10 year multiple entry tourist (L) visa. It costs the same as single entry visa.
