Shenzhen 144hr TWOV is still quite new, so there are not many reports yet. But yes, that should work. You must stay in Shenzhen longer than 24 hours, and you must have your confirmed onward ticket to Hong Kong in your hand when you check-in for your flight to Shenzhen.
