It requires you to take trains from Guangzhou Tianhe (Guangzhoudong Railway Station) and the high speed train is not available. What's more, you need your onward ticket to Hong Kong in your hand when you check-in for your flight to Guangzhou. So the ferry is more recommended.

Part one:

Marta, you are definitely right. By the way, you really don't need to present anything after Hong Kong. Your eligible itinerary is Philippines - mainland China - Hong Kong. The first part by plane, the second part by ferry and that's it. You can use a ferry from Guangzhou, but you can also from Shenzhen. OK, you will decide, but be very careful to choose the eligible port for 144 hours visa free transit. Here is the list:

The three arrival ports include:
• Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN)
• Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX)
• Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport (SWA)

The 32 departure ports include:
• Five airports
o Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN)
o Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX)
o Meixian Changgangji Airport (MXZ)
o Zhanjiang Airport (ZHA)
o Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport (SWA)
• Four rail ports
o Guangzhou Tianhe (Guangzhoudong Railway Station)
o Dongguan (Changping Railway Station)
o Foshan (Foshan Railway Station)
o Zhaoqing (Zhaoqing Railway Station)
• Eight road ports
o Shenzhen: Shatoujiao Port, Wenjindu Port, Huanggang Port, Luohu Port, Shenzhen Bay Port, Futian Port
o Zhuhai: Gongbei Port, Hengqin Port
• 15 seaports and river ports
o Guangzhou: Port of Guangzhou, Nansha Port, Lianhuashan Port
o Shenzhen: Shekou Port, Fuyong Port (in Shenzhen airport)
o Zhuhai: Jiuzhou Port, Wanzai Port, Wanshan Port, Doumen Port
o Jiangmen: Port of Jiangmen
o Heshan: Port of Heshan
o Foshan: Gaoming Port, Rongqi Port
o Zhongshan: Port of Zhongshan
o Dongguan: Humen Port

Part two:

To see available ferries, visit CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport company website where you will book your ferry ticket. You will receive an e-confirmation with your name and passport number that you will have to print out before your departure from Manila.
