Dear, your granddaughter needs to have her father's permission letter if she will go to China. They can apply for Q type, which needs to provide valid passport, application form and recent photo, invitation letter from your daughter-in-law's family, copy of her family's Chinese ID, original and copy of her birth certificate, and permission letter.
