About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

No 3 - 6 days visa free from HK to Guangdong with HK tour group

If I am flying from Canada to HK then join a HK group tour from HK to Guanzhou for 2 days then stay 1 more day at my own. Taking the train return to HK by myself. Do I need to apply the Visa?

If you fly from HK to Guangzhou and take a ferry to Macau, then go back to HK, you don't need a visa. If you go from HK to Guangzhou to HK, you will need one.
