About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Port of Entry Qualification

Most questions/answers here are all having to do with traveling by air, I however am here temporarily to perform then take a cruise starting and ending in Guangzhou. Do I qualify for a visa free entry to get from the Cruise ship to the airport? I fly to the US that same day.
USA to China, perform for 2 weeks, Z visa single entry.
Cruise from Guangzhou to Japan returning to the same port in Guangzhou, no way to get from the port to the airport without coming back through customs/immigration.

You are mean to take the cruise from Guangzhou to Japan, then return to Guangzhou and leave to the US by air on the same day? If yes and you do not have any other landing in mainland China, you don't need a transit visa and you have to apply for a temporary stay permit at the cruise port in order to leave for the airport.
