About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Thailand - Dalian - Beijing - Athens trip

Hi,
I am planning a trip from Athens Greece to Thailand this August and I would like to return to Athens through a stoppage in China for a few days. My intention is to stay in Dalian. Dalian though, has no direct flight to Athens, therefore on my way to Athens, I have to change airports at Beijing.
Am i eligible for a 144 hrs visa free transit, or just the 72 hrs?

Thanks for your reply in advance
Regards
AGT

No, you are not eligible at all. The rule is simple... If you transit through more than one transit zone, your visa free transit limit is just 24 hours. As you can see, you will transit through two transit zones in a row, Liaoning (Dalian) and Beijing. If you really want to travel using 144 hours visa free transit you will have to have just one destination (transit point) within mainland China or to obtain a Chinese tourist (L) visa.
