About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Do I need to apply for a visa?

Hi I am a Uk citizen.

I am going to a hair fair in China
This is the address
Guangzhou Poly World Trade Center Expo Hall
Date: Aug.26-28,2019
City: Guangzhou
Country: China
My question is we have booked a 9 night stay in Hong Kong and thought we could catch the fast train to Guangzhou and return that night back to Hong Kong.
If we like the hair fair that much and want to stay in Guangzhou we will just book another hotel for the night and travel back the following day to HongKong. Would we need to apply for a China visa? On can we just travel across the boarders?

You can materialize your plans but you will have to do this:

- Book a flight ticket from Hong Kong to Guangzhou
- Plan to stay in mainland China for at least 25 hours to become eligible for 144 hours visa free transit
- After you are done with your activity in Guangzhou, you will take a train to Futian Shenzhen railway station.
- From Futian Shenzhen railaway station, you will take a metro to Shekou Shenzhen ferry port
- You will take a ferry from Shekou Shenzhen ferry port to Macau and you will have to book online, in advance your ticket through TurboJet website. Keep in mind that you will need this ticket (in reality an e-confirmation) in your hand before your departure for Guangzhou.
- After your arrival in Macau, you can take immediately the first ferry for Hong Kong.

This is the only option to travel to Guangzhou from Hong Kong visa free. So, plan accordingly or obtain a Chinese visa. There is no third option.
