About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

transit visa clarification in Shanghai

I am a Canadian and going on a 7 days Japan cruise. The cruise leaves Shanghai at 4:30PM....due to time restrictions, I need to arrive a day early from Toronto to catch my cruise. Right after the cruise, I will fly to Sydney, Australia then back to Canada.

You can do the 24/144 hr transit (if stop in shanghai is under 24 you will be given 24 hours) as long as the first port after shanghai is not China and also not the country you entered China form . You also need to make sure Shanghai is your only landing in mainland china
