Will I qualify for the 72 hour or 144 hour visa-free stay?

Hi, I'm flying to Pudong airport (Shanghai) from Tokyo on July 7th, 2019. I have an onward connecting flight to another international destination from Pudong 96 hours later. I am travelling on a Canadian passport. Do I qualify for a 72-hour or 144-hour visa-free stay in Shanghai?

Shanghai is on the 144 hour transit program. Just don't connect back through Japan or have a connection in another Chinese city.
