China 144 hour free transit visa

Hi flying uk to Beijing for 3 nights then bullet train to Xian for 2 nights then fly Xian to Hong Kong for 1 night, then join a cruise ship for 17 nights to Vietnam , Singapore and Australia, can we travel in China on the 144 hour free transit visa, Graham

Sorry, you are not eligible for 144-hour visa free if you fly from UK to Beijing - Xi'an - Hong Kong, and then take the cruise to Vietnam. 144-hour visa free is applied to the travelers who travel from one country to a third country while transiting in one of the allowed areas of China. Beijing and Xi'an Belong to two different areas. However, If you only transit in Beijing or Xi'an, then you are eligible for 144-hour visa free.
