I heard there is a short stay Visa that is free? Is that correct and if so, do you just apply at the Consulate?

It’s 144 HOURS for certain cities on your way to another country. I googled visa free stay and got all the details. I did Sydney to Kathmandu with a 72 hour visa free stay in Guangzhou   Make sure you have accom. details incl  phone no.  Onward ticket. Etc.
