Use 144 hour visa-free to SZX, for a Hong Kong cruise ship and then back to Shenzhen to fly?

My daughter wants to fly from Auckland to SZ, exits China to get on board Hong Kong cruise ship, and then enters China again via bus/train from Hong Kong to SZ to fly back. Can she use the 144 hour visa free? or she needs a visa in advance?

Thanks

Hi, her first itinerary is eligible for the 144-hour visa free transit as long her onward ticket to Hong Kong in her hand when she check-in for the flight to SZ and the ferry can only depart from Shekou Port or Fuyong Port (in Shenzhen airport).

As for the second itinerary, if she returns to Shenzhen and stays less than 24 hours, then she is eligible for the 24-hour visa free transit. However, if she stays more than 24 hours, it requires she enters mainland China from Shenzhen Airport, or she cannot get the 144-visa free transit.

Thanks so much for this. I assume that on her first itinerary she can also take a bus from Shenzhen via Huangguang to enter Hong Kong to get on board cruise ship.
