About:How to Travel from Hong Kong to Shenzhen

Flying into HK and out of SZX

I will be flying into Hong Kong for meetings, then departing from SZX airport 2 days later. I have a valid US passport. Should I apply for the 240 hour visa upon arrival at HKG? What is the recommended way to get to SZX airport when I depart on Tuesday morning?

You don't need to apply for anything upon arrival in Hong Kong, as it is visa free for US passport holders to enter Hong Kong.

You can take a ferry to get to Shekou Port, or MTR / city bus to Luohu or Huanggang Port, where you need to apply for a 24h temporary entry permit to enter Shenzhen, and then transfer to metro or city bus to the airport. Direct bus to the airport from HK is also available, and you also need to apply for a permit on the way.
