About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying in from Manila Philippines

I have an American passport, and I am coming in from Manila to Beijing for only 2 nights and flying back to the US. Does this qualify me for the 72 hour free visa?

Of course, although 144 hours transit without visa is allowed now (not a “free visa” incidentally).

So, your itinerary is Manila - Beijing - US... In principle this is eligible itinerary for 144 hours visa free transit in Beijing (144 hours has replaced 72 hours a couple of years ago), anyway you should have in mind the following detail:

- Your flights to and from Beijing should not have any additional landing within mainland China
