About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Paris - Beijing - Hong Kong (with a 1 hour transit in Shanghai airport)

Hello

Air France company refused to let me board because of that trip :

Paris - Beijing : 3 days in Beijing

Then Beijing to Hong Kong (with a 1 hour transit flight in Shanghai airport)

So I could not board at all in Paris and I lost all my tickets.

We’re they right to refuse me because of the 1 hour transit in Shanghai Airport ?

Thank you for your answer.

You were correctly denied boarding and have no recourse. Two stops in China immediately limited you to 24 hours transit without visa.

The second stop is a transit stop for a connexion flight: no need to leave the airport. No time anyway. So it is considered as a full stop? Thank you

As soon as the wheels touch the tarmac, it’s a stop - even if you don’t leave the aircraft. Air France were 100% correct to refuse to carry you without a visa.
