If Shanghai is your only stop within mainland China, you are perfectly eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Shanghai. You will simply apply for this convenience upon your arrival in Shanghai and you should have your onward ticket and accommodation booking in hard copy. After you fill out the blue form and show the above mentioned documentation, you will be allowed to exit the airport. Of course, upon check-in in the Philippines, you will declare that you will be traveling on 144 hours visa free through Shanghai.
