About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Long stopover in Xiamen

Hi,
This summer me and my family (2 children, 2 adults) will be travelling to Vietnam. We fly with Xiamen air, and we have a long stopover in Xiamen of almost 14 hours, before heading on for Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. Will we be able to leave the airport and check out Xiamen on a 24hr TWOV visa?

Sigrid, you will fly covered by 24 hours visa free transit (not 24hr TWOV visa) and to exit the airport you will have to apply, upon your landing in Xiamen, for 24 hours free entry permit. Your chances to be allowed to exit are really very good. If asked where do you plan to go and what to see, just tell them Gulangyu island because it's so famous among Chinese people, but definitely also worth visiting.
