Visa Exemption Transit

We are UK Passport holders arriving into Shanghai Airport on Sunday 25th Aug 1035hrs, overnighting in a hotel, then departing from Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal Shanghai on Monday 26th August 1900hrs. The first port of call after departure from Shanghai is Busan.
Do we qualify for a visa free transit? If so, what do we need to do?

Geoff, you can enjoy visa free transit.
Follow the steps below:
1. Inform the carrier when boarding
2. Fill an Arrival/Departure Card
3. Apply for the 144-hour visa-free stay permit upon arrival
4. Claim the luggage
5. Go through the customs
6. Leave the airport
