I have a tourist visa for China and I'm only allowed 60 days visit. Must I leave the country to return for an additional 60 days? I have unlimited visits to China with my tourist visa.

Assuming you don't want to void your 10-year visa then yes, it's always better to leave than to file for an extension which may risk your visa being cancelled by staff.
