Julia, you definitely have an option to travel your route Singapore - Shenzhen - Hong Kong - Singapore visa free. Anyway, the main condition is that you remain in Shenzhen area at least for 25 hours. Why? Simply speaking, by staying for more than 24 hours, you become eligible for 144 hours visa free transit in Guangdong province (Shenzhen is within Guangdong province). So, these are the steps you HAVE TO make:

- Before your departure from Singapore to China, you will buy online, in advance your ferry ticket from Shenzhen Shekou port to Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal. You can buy the ticket on CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport Company website.
- At the check-in in Singapore you will declare that you will travel through Shenzhen using 144 hours visa free transit and will show them your tickets and the ticket for ferry from Shenzhen to Hong Kong.
- Upon arrival in Shenzhen you will apply for 144 hours visa free transit and after that you will be allowed to exit the airport.
- You will take a ferry, but it HAS TO be that ferry that you have bought the ticket for. Please, have that in mind.
- After your arrival in Hong Kong, you will proceed as you wish.

Basically, this is simple, Shekou ferry port can be easily reached by Shenzhen metro, but you should have in mind that the ferry departure has to be at least 25 hours after your scheduled arrival in Shenzhen.

The alternative to the above scheme is Shenzhen visa on arrival. You can use this option, pay for the visa upon arrival at Shenzhen airport, stay in Shenzhen up to 5 days and exit to Hong Kong. Keep in mind that Shenzhen visa limits your moving just within the boundaries of Shenzhen Special Economic zone while 144 hours visa free transit allows you to travel throughout Guangdong province.
