Is the transit visa valid for this route?

My flight schedule is the below:

Vancouver - Hong Kong - Macao (ferry) - Shanghai - Hong Kong (for in airport connection) - Manchester

Please can someone clarify if a non-mainland China destination can count as both country A and C or just one of A or C?

In conclusion, is the above flight schedule valid for the 144 hour Shanghai transit visa?
