About:Tianjin Area & Zip Code

Difference from 144hr visa exemption from 72 hr visa exemption for an Italian

I am flying from Hong Kong to Beijing, stay 5 days in Beijing and then fly to Los Angeles. China consulate told me that I only apply for 72 house visa exemption, however I understand that I qualify for 144 visa exemption. Could you help me with the correct information

Don't worry, the 72-hour free visa transit had become 144-hour since 2018. It seems the information given by consulate is out of date.
