You must leave Guangdong from one of the following exit points:
• Five airports
o Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN)
o Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX)
o Meixian Changgangji Airport (MXZ)
o Zhanjiang Airport (ZHA)
o Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport (SWA)

• Four rail ports
o Guangzhou Tianhe (Guangzhoudong Railway Station)
o Dongguan (Changping Railway Station)
o Foshan (Foshan Railway Station)
o Zhaoqing (Zhaoqing Railway Station)

• Eight road ports
o Shenzhen: Shatoujiao Port, Wenjindu Port, Huanggang Port, Luohu Port, Shenzhen Bay Port, Futian Port
o Zhuhai: Gongbei Port, Hengqin Port

• 15 seaports and river ports
o Guangzhou: Port of Guangzhou, Nansha Port, Lianhuashan Port
o Shenzhen: Shekou Port, Fuyong Port (in Shenzhen airport)
o Zhuhai: Jiuzhou Port, Wanzai Port, Wanshan Port, Doumen Port
o Jiangmen: Port of Jiangmen
o Heshan: Port of Heshan
o Foshan: Gaoming Port, Rongqi Port
o Zhongshan: Port of Zhongshan
o Dongguan: Humen Port

And importantly, you need your onward ticket to Hong Kong in your hand when you check-in for your flight to Guangzhou.

Alison, everything you have mentioned is fine, but you should know that it is vital to have the ticket for your transfer from Guangzhou to Hong Kong in your hand right at the time of your check-in in London. Without that ticket, you would be ineligible. You have mentioned coach and that is fine, but you need to present the ticket for that particular coach at the time of your check-in in London. So, if you have somebody in Guangzhou that can book a coach ticket and send it to you, that is fine. In case that you do not have, I would suggest you to book a ticket for Guangzhou–Kowloon through train that departs from Guangzhou East railway station and arrives in Hung Hom railway station in Hong Kong within about 2 hours. The good thing about this option is in the fact that you can book this ticket online in advance at Guangdong Line Schedule - MTR Intercity Through Train website.
