About:China Transit Visa

Do I need a transit visa? If not, can i leave the Airport?

Hi there,

I am flying to Europe from Australia.
I am from Colombia and I hold a Colombia passport. Do I need to process a transit visa if I have to wait at the Airport for about 20 hours? If not, can i leave the Airport?

Danny, if you will transit in China for less than 24 hours, you don't need the transit G visa. You need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport in order to leave. Since your layover is long, I guess you will spend a night outside, right? If so, you have very good chance to get the temporary stay permit.
