About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

USA - Shanghai - Taiwan - USA

hello! I have a roundtrip ticket from USA to Taiwan and another roundtrip ticket from Taiwan - Shanghai, will I be able to use the 72 hour visa in Shanghai?

Dottie, how will you plan your route? USA - Taiwan - Shanghai - Taiwan - USA? If so, you are not able to use the visa-free transit in Shanghai.

Yes, it will be USA, Shanghai, Taiwan, USA. I just purchased two different round trip tickets.

US-Taiwan-Shanghai-Taiwan-US is a no-no. US-Shanghai-Taiwan-Shanghai-US is OK.
