About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

We are flying from Bangkok to Beijing, China to Vancouver with 48hr stay.

That should be okay for visa free stay?

Definitely. Just keep in mind that your flights from Bangkok to Beijing and from Beijing to Vancouver do not have any additional landings within mainland China. If your flights are nonstop, you are definitely eligible for 144 hours visa free transit.
