About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Philippine passport holder going to Manila from US.

I am a Philippine Passport Holder. I will be traveling from the US to the Philippines and have a 14 hour delay in Xiamen. Do I need a visa to explore the city? I somewhat get the 24 hour transit policy but just to clarify.

Mike, you are definitely covered by 24 hours visa free transit through China (Xiamen), so you do not need any kind of visa. You will just declare at your chek-in in US that you will travel visa free and basically this is it. Of course, you can apply for 24 hours free entry permit upon your arrival in Xiamen to be allowed to exit the airport. It is free, but you should know that the final decision about this detail is always upon immigration discretion.
