No, you don't. Your itinerary is perfectly covered by 24 hours visa free transit.

Of course not. As long as your overall transit through China is less than 24 hours, you are perfectly covered by 24 hours visa free transit.

Different airlines, separate tickets and also recheck of your luggage are perfectly allowed. Everything you will do upon your landing in Shanghai is to apply for 24 hours free entry permit because you will have to exit the transit zone and recheck yourself for a new flight. This permit is free of charge and you just need your flight tickets in hard copy, so that you can fill out one form. Just be relaxed, this is rather straightforward procedure.
