About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, I am a NZ Citizen and transit via guangzhou and my layover is for 18hrs and do i need visa?

Dear, if you don't have layover in other cities of China and your route is indeed a transit route, you don't need a visa.

I am also a NZ citizen and am flying Munich to Beijing to Melbourne - and am looking at staying at a hotel as have a 20 hour layover. Are the hotels close to the airport still in the transit area?
Or will I need to apply for a 24 hour visa?
