About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

China 144 hour visa

my partner and myself are travelling to New Zealand stopping at Beijing for 4 Nights. Our flight starts in Edinburgh to Amsterdam then on to Beijing. When flying to New Zealand the flight goes from Beijing then to Baiyun. Then we fly from there to New Zealand. Would we be granted a 144 hour visa?

Gary, so you will have layover in both Beijing and Guangzhou? In this case, you are not qualified for the 144h visa-free transit because Beijing and Guangzhou are not in the same visa-free transit zone. You can choose to only stop over Beijing or Guangzhou.

Thanks for the reply.
We are stopping over for 4 nights in Beijing. We are only stopping in Guangzhou for about 3/4 hours to change planes. Don’t know if this would make any difference?

You must get a visa for China otherwise you will be denied boarding.
