About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Guangdong 144 Transit Visa Exemption - Land Ports

Is it definitely still the case that ARRIVAL IN GUANGDONG BY AIR (rather than by sea or land) is necessary ? The following statement suggests that arrival by land or sea may be allowed "As of May 1, 2019, Guangdong province expanded the 144 hour visa exemption policy to cover every international airport in the province – Guangzhou Baiyun, Shenzhen Bao-an, and Jieyang Chaoshan – as well as four railways, eight land ENTRIES, and 15 ports. Travelers who obtain a transit visa exemption in Guangdong can travel freely throughout the province for the duration of the exemption."

Yes, you can only enter from the three airports. The statement means that you can choose any port to leave, no matter air ports, railways or sea ports.
