In case that you intend to visit Hainan only, then you are advised to use 30-Day Visa-Free Access. Also, your citizenship is eligible. Everything you should have in mind is to use the flights from, fore example, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Singapore and not mainland China ones. Of course, beside Haikou you can also use Sanya airport on the south of the island.
When you decide how long you should stay there, you will contact one of the relevant agencies including this one (Travel China Guide) and ask them to support you in obtaining your 30-Day Visa-Free Access. Of course, for that favor, you are expected to take at least one of agency products like airport transfer to your hotel or some simple half day trip... Basically, this is it.
