About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit in Haikou

I'm traveling with Hainan airlines from Jeddah to Hong Kong with connection in Haikou airport for 4 hours. Can I obtain 24-hour Visa-free entry? as I heard that Hainan airlines you should self transfer your luggage at Haikou airport. Also is 4 hours enough time to do all the formalities?

This is all fine. The first and the most important detail is that you do not need a visa of any kind because your transit in Haikou will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you have enough time to do everything. Everything longer than 3 hours is fine and acceptable for accomplishing usual formalities even when you have to collect your luggage and perform new check-in. Formalities are: upon your landing in Haikou the first thing that you will do will be to fill out arrival card. You will tick the box on the arrival card where it is written - transit. After that you will perform automatic fingerprinting. With a filled out arrival card and a fingerprinting receipt you will approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit by presenting your flight tickets, filled out arrival card and fingerprinting receipt. This is all free of any charge. After a short check you will be granted a temporary entry permit and then you will cross the immigration, collect your luggage and perform new check-in and drop-off the luggage for your flight to Hong Kong. When you are done with that you will proceed toward exit immigration and to your gate for your flight to Hong Kong. Have a nice journey.
