About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hours visa free in Guangdong

Hi,

I've read that Guangdong province accepts now 144 hours visa free transit.
Let's say that the route is:
Montreal - Guangzhou - Hong Kong? Will it be OK?

Yes, but you cannot take HSR. You will also need your ticket to Hong Kong in your hand when you check-in at Montreal.

You should just visit a website selling the tickets for the so called Guangzhou Kowloon through train that departs from Guangzhou East Railway station and terminates in Hong Kong Hung Hom Railway station. Buy a ticket and like this you will be perfectly eligible for your planned trip.

Basically,

Route Flight is from YUL (montreal) to Guangzhou (144h) and then Guangzhou to HKG - everything by flight. I just want to make sure 144h free visa transit is OK (little bit confused with other websites saying it's only 72h). Thanks a lot to confirm.

There are no nonstop flights from YUL to Guangzhou so you have to make sure that flight doesn't stop in HK or elsewhere in Mainland China. Also make sure your Guangzhou-HKG flight is nonstop.
