About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Stopover with Philipina

As a german citizen i should not have any problems. But how is it, when we go via HK to Manila and have a 15 hour break in Beijing in both directions? Do i need a visa for that?
And how is it for a Philipina, traveling from Manila (perhaps via HK) and Beijing to Frankfurt? She would have a ticket from KH or Ho-Chi-Min City to Germany and a visa for Germany. Can she also visit Beijing or does she have to stay in the airport?

There is no problem with your travel itinerary because you will stay within mainland China for just 15 hours in Beijing. Both of you are perfectly covered by 24 hours visa free transit. You should have in mind that Philippine citizens do not need a visa for Hong Kong and also for Vietnam. So, the only visa your Filipina will have to obtain is Schengen visa.

As far as the exit from the airport is concerned, you should apply upon arrival in Beijing for 24 hours free entry permit and you have a good chance to be granted one. In order to increase your chances to obtain the permit it is highly advisable to book an accommodation in Beijing and to have a confirmation with you in hard copy.
