It's possible, but you will need your onward tickets in your hand when you check in for your flight to China.

As already mentioned by Judd, you can take a ferry from Shenzhen (Shekou port) to Macau by TurboJet because you can buy their tickets online in advance. Also, you can take a ferry or even better a direct train from Guangzhou (East station) to Hong Kong (Hung Hom station). You can buy train tickets online in advance.

Actually, no. You can take GZ–Kowloon through train departing from GZ East Railway station and terminating at Hong Kong Hung Hom Railway station. You can search this train under the title: MTR Intercity Through Train. On the mentioned website, you should buy a ticket and have it before you depart for GZ. By the way, the journey on this train takes just about 2 hours.

As Marcella has mentioned, yes you are allowed to take any kind of transport within the Guangdong province including the high speed train to Shenzhen. In reality, the most practical way is to take a high speed train to Futian Shenzhen station and from there by metro to Shekou port for your transfer to Macau by ferry (catamaran). Remember that you need to have in hands ferry ticket before the very beginning of your journey, so you can buy them through TurboJet ferry website.

Honestly, I have never heard about Sendou port, but you should have in mind that you cannot make a return journey, i.e. Hong Kong - Guangdong - Hong Kong. Return from Guangzhou port or Sendou or any other directly to Hong Kong, makes you ineligible for 144 hours visa free transit.

By the way, here is the list of valid exit seaports and river ports from Guangdong:

Guangzhou: Port of Guangzhou, Nansha Port, Lianhuashan Port
Shenzhen: Shekou Port, Fuyong Port (in Shenzhen airport)
Zhuhai: Jiuzhou Port, Wanzai Port, Wanshan Port, Doumen Port
Jiangmen: Port of Jiangmen
Heshan: Port of Heshan
Foshan: Gaoming Port, Rongqi Port
Zhongshan: Port of Zhongshan
Dongguan: Humen Port
