About:Visa on Arrival

Can you still definitely get a Shenzhen 5-day VOA (British national)?

This might seem a silly question, based on all the information on the page.

However, there is conflicting information across the internet about the procedures at Bao'an Airport.

On this page, it states "foreigners need a visa to go to SZ unless they qualify for the 24-hour visa-free transit" however, in multiple other places on this website, it states that the 24-hour visa-free transit option isn't available in the city. (Also can't get through on the number above)

I'm a British national transiting through SZ. I'm pretty certain I can't 24-hour TWOV so can I definitely get a 5-day VOA?

Amazing. Thank you so much for this. Has put my mind at ease. One last question, can you leave the airport with both the 24-hr TWOV and the 5-day VOA? Or just the 5-day VOA?

Quite the contrary... You can get not only 24 hours visa free transit, but also 144 hours visa free transit at Bao'an airport. This is official and available since couple of days ago. By the way, SZ visa is still available and it can be obtained, but with this visa, you are limited to the area of SZ Special Economic Zone. Of course, you are eligible for 24 and 144 hours visa free transit in case that you are arriving from one and will depart to a third country after your stay in SZ area or the entire province of Guangdong.

The main reason why SZ has started to allow 24 and now 144 hours visa free transit is remarkable success of SZ Airlines that has pushed for the mentioned conveniences in order to attract even more, especially international passengers. Now it's up to you to decide.

You can leave the airport with 24 hours TWOV, but you have to apply for 24 hours free entry permit. Booking of accommodation and having a hard copy of your booking will practically assure you to exit the airport.
