About:Visa on Arrival

Can you advise definitively whether VOA is available for US Passport holders and the cost?

There's so much conflicting information. Most agree VOA IS available for US citizens, but costs vary widely. We considered a tour, but even group visas require five days and we are already in Hong Kong. If VOA cost is in the $980RMB range, we'll apply for a standard visa and visit next time. Thanks so much!

Shenzhen VOA is definitely available for US citizens and the price they have to pay for VOA at relevant ports of entry is roughly 120 USD converted in CNY. In reality for that price you can obtain, but in US, 10 year multiple entry Chinese visa. In reality, I would say that VOA in case for US citizens is only for those who really don't have to care about such a "small amount" or for business people which expenses will be reimbursed.
