About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

From US to Beijing with few hours layover in Canada

Hi, I'd like to join a friend having an exhibition in Beijing. I have an Italian passport but I'm in the U.S. right now.
I can take a flight from the US with a 4hr layover in Vancouver, Canada and arriving in Beijing the day after. The flight back will be exactly 74 hr later (I'm counting landing arrival), from Beijing, 4 hr layover in Vancouver, Canada and arriving in US.
Any chance it would be eligible for the 72 hr Visa exception?

Thanks

Unfortunately, you are not eligible because your route is not a transit:

Vancouver - Beijing - Vancouver

You should apply for Chinese visa or change your flights.

Please, keep in mind that your journey should look like this to be eligible for 144 hours visa free transit:

US (country A) - China (country B) - Canada (country C)

Only the immediate points before and after your landing in China matter.
