About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does Hong Kong count as a third destination if leaving China via Train?

Im an Australian travelling from Dubai to Guangzhou direct with Emirates and afterwards will apply for the 72 hour visa on arrival at Guangzhou airport if I leave within the 72 hours and take the train from Guangzhou to Hong Kong Hung Hom station will I be eligible for the transit visa? As Im departing via train to HK?

If your trip is Dubai to Guangzhou to HK, and you can use the 72h twov, but you should leave Guangzhou for HK by airplane.
