About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

My trip is Paris - Beijing (stopover 18 hours) - Kunming (stop 1 hour) - Katmandu.

Can I enjoy the no visa 72 hours policy in Beijing even if I leave the country with 1 hour stop inside china in Kunming (I stay inside the airport at Kunming as it is only a very short transfer)?

Two stops immediately limits you to 24 hours transit without visa in China.
