About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Route query

Based on what I’ve read I think it is fine, but just for confirmation is the following route ok for the 144 hour twov?


London - Shanghai - Bali (stopping in Shanghai from 5am on the 5th until the evening of the 7th)


Return (very short stop in Shanghai or less than 4 hours) Bali - Shanghai - London

Your first leg is perfect example for 144 hours visa free travel. You second leg will be just a transit in Shanghai and if we are talking about the through (single ticket from Bali to London via Shanghai) ticket, then you will not apply for any type of visa because you will just switch from one to the other plane within transit zone of Shanghai airport. In case that you have two separate tickets, i.e. one from Bali to Shanghai and another from Shanghai to London, then you will apply for 24 hours TWOV.
