About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Cruise from Japan - Shanghai - Fly to UK

Hi,

I fly in to Shanghai direct from UK, stay there for 2 days, before taking cruise, first stop is Japan. So I believe I can use 144 hour for this.

But, later in cruise, after leaving Japan, I return to Shanghai, when I then go to Pudong airport and fly back to UK, with transit stop for 3 hours in Hong Kong.
Can I use the 144 hour for this one? Or can I use the 24hour Transit for this one?

Help appreciated

Mark

If your stop in Mainland China is less than 24 hours, you will only get 24-hour transit. A stop in HK, however, will be fine for both 24-hour and 144-hour transit as Hong Kong is an international destination (i.e., not in Mainland China).
