Do I need 2 visa's

After cruising around china with 5 stops we end up in Hong Kong for a 3 day stop, then we will fly back to Shanghai for a visit. Do we need a separate visa to leave Hong Kong and reenter Shanghai?

If it's Hong Kong - Shanghai - another country or region instead of HK, you can get free transit. No need to apply for visa for Shanghai this trip.
