Chinese 1 visa extension

My wife and daughters got S1 valid for 90 days. However as per policy they need to apply for resident permit within 30 days of entry into China. For applying resident permit we need to submit authenticated Marriage and Birth certificate here in China. These certificates are delayed to receive after authentication. Incase if we don't receive within the 30 days of entry into China, can we extend the visa for another month?
If can be extended then which visa need to apply?

Maybe you can try to apply the extension. But I cannot guarantee that. You are advised to contact the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to inquire that before you do it.
