About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Would the 144hour free visa be permitted.

I would like to travel to Beijing direct from Amsterdam by air and leave Beijing by rail to Hong Kong.

There is no such thing as "144 hour free visa". There is only 144 hours transit WITHOUT visa, which is very different from a visa. You need a tourist (L) or business (M).
