About:Shanghai 15-day Visa-free Policy for Cruise Tour Groups

I am flying from the UK to Shanghai for an 13 day cruise to Japan that departs from SH.

We are flying from the UK to SH for an 13 day cruise to Japan in April 2020. We intend to be in SH for approx 72 hours before the cruise departs. After the cruise departs towards Japan the first stop is in Beijing (Tianjin) on day 4 to day 6 of the cruise for approximately 53 hours stay before proceeding to the next port which is in South Korea. At the end of the cruise we I fly home to the UK from Tokyo. A total of 72 hours in SH and 53 hours in Beijing. Would we qualify for either 144 hours visa and/or the 15-day Visa-free Policy for Cruise Tour Groups. Or would will need a apply for standard tourist visa? Please advice soonest.
I thank you in anticipation

You will need the tourist (L) visa. Since you have two mainland stops you don't qualify for 72/144 hour visa free transit. Also the 15 day visa free for cruises only works if you arrive in China through Shanghai by boat and then leave china by the same boat, since you arrive in China by plane you don't qualify.
