Can I get the visa if my passport only have 4 months of validity?

I am planning to go from Mexico > Bejing> Seoul, but my passport is going to expire in 4 months, I am wondering if I will be able to get the temporary stay permit/ transit visa or not? I am planning to leave the airport in Beijing for a few hours to meet my friend there.

3 months is the bare minimum, so you have to ensure that your passport will have at least that much amount of validity left when you land in China. Otherwise boarding and entry to China will be refused.
